What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a Buddhist practice that is focused on paying attention to whatever you are experiencing in the present moment in a nonjudgmental manner and it encourages you to consider alternative ways to examine your circumstances.

Why Might Mindfulness Be Helpful For You?

Right now, you may be feeling so overwhelmed by everything that is going on in your life.  Your mind may be racing and it may be difficult for you to take time to consider your own needs during this time of stress.  Studies show that hearing parents who have children who have been diagnosed as being deaf experience great amounts of stress.  Mindfulness practices have been shown to help parents reduce stress and provide more positive parenting to their children (Contact us for references to these studies).
